The first series of the Apprentice that the hubster – G and I watched together was in 2008. The winner that year was Lee Mcqueen and his catch phrase was ‘That’s what I’m talking about!’ which for some reason G has now taken on ever since. From turning in his first iPhone to sitting down to a sumptuous Ghanaian meal of fufu and light soup, G can be heard exclaiming that phrase at our abode (complete with Ghanaian-Cockney accent!). The other day, I couldn’t resist and had to borrow it myself:

Somehow (yes I am kicking myself), I managed to miss the fact that this fab new BRITISH wedding and parties blog – Love Luxe Blog, was launching. I was taking a peek at Twitter one day last week (yes really, I actually went onto Twitter for a bit – no lie) and saw lots of #loveluxelaunch etc and my curiosity led me to some serious prettiness that I just could not and still cannot get over.

For a while I have been a reader of American based wedding and party blogs sighing and wishing that us lot in the UK would catch up. Well, the lovely Rosie Parsons had been thinking along the same lines and decided to start a UK based wedding and party blog, showcasing gorgeous inspiration. She didn’t stop there, but hosted the most amazing launch party involving some amazingly talented UK event stylists, photographers and vendors.

A ‘Perfect’ Personalised Wedding Print

So, I so haven’t been good at this blogging business – what can I say?! Things have been pretty hectic, but I’ve decided I’ve got to take the plunge and get back into the swing of things…

Back in June, I created a personalised wedding 8×10 print for Amar’s work colleagues to present to him as a gift for his wedding. I printed the design on metallic white cardstock which was rather gorgeous if I may say so myself!

The print was put into a frame and Amar loved it – actually, ‘perfect’ was the word he used, as he and Deepa had been looking for something to display on their guest book table at their reception.

The print went down so well that I’ve decided that I will be creating more designs to sell directly from the Delectable Ink website – keep an eye out for when they are realeased! The prints will be perfect to use for wedding welcome tables, reception guest book tables or as a wedding gift.

Emma & Danny’s Cool Photo Invitation

I was so excited to take on Emma and Danny’s wedding invitations, and when Emma told me about the photo invitation concept that she and Danny had come up with, I knew it would be a winner.

Emma loves her yellow Fiat and it was totally natural to include the beauty on their wedding invitations, particularly as the wedding is just before Easter. Emma wrote the ‘invitation’ number plate, Danny arranged the flowers around it, and then they took a photos of their creation. They wanted an art card feel to their invitation and went for an A6 folded card on glossy cotton – fibre card, with yellow envelopes.

The inner text was in grey font and included this beautiful quote:

“I love thee like puddings; if thou wert pie, I’d eat thee” – John Ray, 1667.

Emma and Danny’s guests were raving about the funkiness that came through their letter boxes – so we must have gotten something right

So, for something quirky and a bit different, why not think about custom photo invitations, and incorporate something that is special to you – maybe your red mini?!

Better Late Than Never!

So, it’s been almost three weeks that I relaunched my event stationery and album design business as Delectable Ink and I’ve been buzzing with excitement so much so that I’ve only just gotten round to writing my first blog post

The lead up to the relaunch was a roller coaster of emotions for me, but here are two of the most important lessons that I learnt in the process:

Pressure fires me up; and
“All things work together for good” (Romans 8:28, The Bible)

I may expand on those lessons in future posts, but for now, I just really want to thank God, my gorgeous husband, Isa Maria and Red Bull for getting me to this point.
